I seem to have a problem with e-mail validation when new users register. They receive the validation e-mail OK but when they click the link they get a 404 error Your browser cannot find the document corresponding to the URL you typed in. I'm using an Access Database in the dbase folder. Anyone any ideas?
Check the forum URL you have set in your admin options. If it is incorrect it will point them to the wrong page. In some cases, with certain cheap hosting options, the URL you think its at may not be the actual URL of the page. Search and you'll find several posted examples.
I managed to figure it out and it was to do with the Home URL setting but not in the way you thought it might. The Home URL needs to point to the directory holding the register.asp file whereas I had it pointing to the dbase directory where my forum database is.
