I have finnaly got everything working but now as I try and clean up and delete the test users I find when I try and delete them I get the message "The URL has been modified! Possible Hacking Attempt" and I can't go any further
I am using the latest version and the forum isn't even being used yet so I assume there hasn't been a hacking attempt?
The problem has started happening since I added the gatekeeper MOD but I wouldn't have thought that would cause this so I have posted this in the general forum.
why would you assume that the base code is wrong and the fact that you have edited some code would not be? especially considering you have even posted a topic because you can't get the mod working
I can assure you that the base code does not have a problem deleting members, I have just deleted 3 here.
I wasn't assuming that the base code was wrong and I did say that the problem was only since I added the gatekeeper MOD which implies I was able to delete users before that. My assumption was that all the messing around I have done has caused a problem, maybe with the constant creating and deleting of users during testing. I was hoping that someone might recognise the error message and know exactly where to point me as my knowledge of ASP is very limited.
The problem with the gatekeeper MOD is that the approximate line numbers where code has to be pasted is out of date so it can be difficult to work out where to paste the code, particularly where a search returns several options.
I have just deleted the database and then run setup again. It is now working perfectly despite the fact I have not touched any of the files. This is the second time during setting up and testing that re-installing the database cured the problem. The first time was before I installed the MOD and was having trouble with setting subscriptions.
As I said, my knowledge of ASP is very limited but it seems to me my statement was correct and that it wasn't the gatekeeper MOD changes that was causing the problem.
During testing I did edit the database directly just to change my username but considering I was then able to log on with the new username. Can that cause problems ? If not, I can only assume constant creating and deleting the same user causes problems
