Hello,

First off thank you snitz for providing a wonderful piece of software!!! absolutely loving it!!

Problem: After installing the avatar mod 1.3 by Hamlin and editing the code, I have tried to upload an avatar but I keep getting this message "an error occurred on the server when processing the URL. Please contact the system administrator.

If you are the system administrator please click here to find out more about this error."

for the avatar destination I am putting c:/inetpub/wwwroot/xxxx/avatars/
This is folder that I have set up on my site to hold all avatars...
I have tried many combination's but its just not working...what am I doing wrong?

secondly when I try to host an avatar and post the url (same exact size avatar that I have set up for the site to handle : 96x96) It says its succesful but I get a missing file symbol (red x in explorer and a different one in firefox) when I try to edit.

I have searched around on the forums and found similar situations but the solutions have not worked....so please don't post links to other threads in this topic. Thank you in advance for your help : )<

Im pretty sure that it does because I created the folder myself in the site directory. like this mysite/avatars/ ...but I will check it later when I get home.

I am talking here about file permission in the OS not permissions related to IIS or the web, just creating a directory will not give it write/modify permissions unless the parent directory has them (one would hope that your websites folder DOES NOT have write/modify permissions by default)<

I have given full access to my root directory for all users so I thought that it had it as well. Im not really worried to who has access as I am theo only one using the comp. I know this is going to sound dumb but am I not supposed to give full access to IIS users? Because I thought I needid to do that for some reason. Im really new to all of this....<

you should NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES give full access to your root directory, your site will get hacked in no time at all.

you only give read access to the IUSR account, and then give it write/modify permissions for anything it may need to write to (dataabse/upload dir /avatar etc)<
