I've recently made a page that is for members of a private forum (see the thread here).

I have the active users mod installed. Currently if someone that does not belong to the private forum looks on the active users page, they can see members viewing the page that is supposed to be private. I'd like for the page not to be visible to non private forum members but be visible to the private members. Maybe a non private member would see something like Viewing Private Page or something like that. I've noticed that other pages will act like that. How can I make my page do the same?<

Don't have my files with me right now, but I'll write you something up in the morn' (Irish time).

If you've already added the page to active_user.asp then it's pretty much the same method I posted in the previous topic.

OK, working on the assumption that you haven't yet added your new page to the WhatPage function at the end of active_user.asp, you need to add a new case to the "select case" statement in that function that should go something like this:
    case "page.asp"
      if chkForumAccess(FORUM_ID, MemberID, false) then
        strPage = strPage & "Page Title"
      else
        strPage = "Private Page"
      end if
Where FORUM_ID is the id of your private forum.

I tried but it didn't seem to work.

I did have this:

case "page.asp"
strPage = strPage & fLang(strLangMOD_Ls3kAU_01700)

I then removed it to make it what you suggested:

case "page.asp"
if chkForumAccess(FORUM_ID, MemberID, false) then
strPage = strPage & "Page Title"
else
strPage = "Private Page"
end if

I did change the page name and the Forum_ID parts to reflect my own page.

What a user now sees if they don't belong to the private forum is "page.asp"

What did I do wrong? <

Do they see the page title with the link if they're on the members list for the related forum?

Well, I went home and tried your suggestion again and it works perfectly! It must have been a browser cache issue or something. At work I can't clear it.

Thanks! You always pull through! <
