Now that I have the forum running and working perfectly I would like to add the option so that whn somebody has written something the user will get an email. We have in the company an internal mailserver. So what I did I added the IP to the textbox which asks me the name of the mailserver. Now for the rest I just put it on activated. And I choose the type of IIS6. Do I have to activate something on the Windows2003 server? I mean for the IIS6 stuff? Cause I tried to send mails(by clicking on the profile of the user), but now success.
You may need to use authentication i.e. supply a username and password to the mail server.
But where do I put that then? Supose youneed ONE username for everybody, no?

No, it doesn´t do a thing.
We have a mailserver which conects to the real mailserver company outside. And then our mailserver reparts all the mails to the clients (it ia uin LInux), something like VPOP3. So I just used his IP address (which is the one we use in Outlook to direct to the server). I haven´t seen a place to add a username + password. It sounds logical, but can not find it
Thx already and sorry for my very, very, very late repy.... I was too busy programming stuff
