I've a simple basic version of Snitz with only a few mods, and a very complex one with lot of mods.
Part of the users want it as simple as possible.
Is it possible these 2 versions use the same database?
I've tried and it seems to work.
I had to make a mixed version of FORUM_BANNED since the complex version uses a more advanced methode, so I had to combine the 2 different versions. (only disadvantage, the autonumbering for the simplified version is off, but that's no problem, only the admin can use that)

The question is, is this safe?
Of course the simplified version doesn't show all the info (Avatar and message icons f.i.), but the basics are there.

I have a political poll running for now so I don't want to risk a lang trial and error.

Basic question is, is it a problem when there are unused fields in the database of aks the forum only for what it wants?
Problem that could happen is that when the simple version adds something I dont't know if the unadressed fields get automatically a default value.

Of course, both are 3.4.06 versions<

Info about my forum: http://www.govvd.nl/forumsoftware.htm list of Mods included.
Most of userinterface translated into Dutch.

If you have required fields that were added to the database by mods, you may have problems, but there is not a very frequent ocurrance. Usually a base forum will run normally with a modded database.<
