I've installed the Mod in a multi Mod environment.
It works fine, users get the topic only the first time they log in.
I can check if user has seen it, get a refreshed notice
Some questions remain.
1. Can it be turned off? I tried by entering a blanc, but that gave an error:
Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80040e14'
Syntax error in UPDATE statement.

EDIT Putting in a non existing topic # does the trick.
2. I get the refreshed notice, but the next time the user logs in, he doesn't get the message again. Is that as it should be?
3. Can you forge users to read rules.asp or faq.asp f.i. directly or only by opening a topic with a link?
4. May the topic be in a group where the user has no access or can you select the users who get the message this way? Would be a nice feature. EDIT Tried it, user gets a no access message but is logged in. Maybe it is simple to add a small modification saying if a member has no access to topic, go to main page directly. Would be a nice addition.< |
