I have successfully uploaded and installed the first three MODS of the 5-in-1 Snitz Common Expansion pack for 3.4.06. Although it appears that everything went as planned with the Attachments Administration in the Admin Options, the other pages seem unaffected. Except for the Admin Options menu none of the other pages seem to have changed at all. I set the "Allow attachments in posts" to yes and specified the upload directory. I don't see anything that would allow me to pick a file for uploading. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You!<

Since you have made previous mods, I hope you didn't follow the instructions for Proeder's (upload all files).... You will have to compare the files provided ("config.asp", "inc_header.asp", "inc_iconfiles.asp", "post.asp") with your own previously modified files, incorporating any differences.<

I did follow the directions but I changed the config.asp to match my database type and path. I compared the files on the server with the ones that the instructions told me to upload and they are all the same.

It's strange that the forum still works with the new files but the attachment features and functionality are not there. I repeated the steps in the instructions and end up with the same results. I think it's all there but I obviously missed doing some critical step.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.<

Provide links to .txt versions of each of the four files and we'll see if we can spot your error.<

Did you run the DBS script? Also possibly run setup.asp after installation. I can't remember but I thought you have to do that with this one but I could be remembering wrong its been a while since I added this mod into a forum.<

Thanks JJenson, but I sucessfully ran the DBS script and ran the setup.asp after installation several times and nothing yet. The forum still works but no signs of the file attachment features.

Can you tell me what I should be looking for? I understand that I should be seeing a "my files" link or a paper clip icon?

Is that correct?<

Yeah you should be seeing those things if the files were uploaded correctly. Are you sure you uploaded the correct files and images to where they should be. I have been there several times thinking I was uploading the correct info and come to find out I wasn't<

Perhaps the server is caching pages?

Don't you have to allow uploading on a per member basis in the memberprofile?<

I have confirmed that the files were uploaded correctly and I don't believe that the server is caching pages because the "Configure Attachments" link is there in the Admin Options. However, I notice that the setting in the admin_attach.asp for the "Upload directory:" and the "Allow attachments in posts:" don't save my entries. After specifying the fold and setting the allow to yes, I clicked save and get "Settings saved!". But if I go back to the attachments configuration page the default values are blank and the allow is no. Don't know if the page should save my settings or not? As far as copies of the files I am using, there are the exact same ones downloaded from:

http://www.snitzbitz.com/mods/download.asp?mid=241&fid=340

The only thing I changed was the connection string in the config.asp. I only wanted the first 3 mods so I stopped after the "#3 Proeders File Attachment". My forum still works perfectly but without the file attachment options that I had hope to incorporate. There's got to be an easier way to do this. Is the Mike's file attachment better then Proeders? Should I start over and try that one instead?

Thanks again for all your help!<

The situation you're describing sounds like you missed some variables in "config.asp".<

The instructions said to only change the path but I'll take another look at it.

Well, you missed this bit:

'############## Attachments ###############################

Dim strUploadUrl, strAllowAttachment

'###########################################################

and this bit:

'########### Attachments ############################################

strUploadUrl = Application(strCookieURL & "STRUPLOADURL")
strAllowAttachment = Application(strCookieURL & "STRALLOWATTACHMENT")

'#####################################################################
