I guess this has gone way above my head.

Last Saturday I was hacked and had porn being posted at will by some idiot.

I had updated to the current version and I *thought* I had dutifully kept up on all security fixes. My ISP is utterly useless. No suggestons, no backups etc.

So I deleted the forum and database and replaced it with a Feb 2008 version that I corrected with the latest security fix. However, this looks exactly like the hacked version! And you cannot log in etc. No images, no forum control. Config.asp won't run for me....

This is way over my head now... help?

Done, but now I cannot log on. I get a 404 error and it appears to be trying to go to: http://www.wildwildwest.org/public_html/forum/members.asp which is not the correct directory. Should be http://www.wildwildwest.org/forum/members.asp I know I set the correct path to the database in config, asp because it found it.

That would mean that the problem lies in the hosting... and I would almost bet that you were not hacked, but just lost app variables, which would allow spam posting. Better keep the current database at hand to use it.

I can have a look, if you want to email me your FTP data.<

Unfortunately, ruirib was unable to assist (much appreciated, tho').

I have read a number of fixes related to problems with logging in and none of them seem to fit my issue. Basically, my ISP made me move the web site from the root directory to a /public_html/ directory earlier this week after a hack to the forum supposedly took place (something clearly happened, but not sure what.)

When I go to http://www.wildwildwest.org/forum/ or http://www.wildwildwest.org/forum/default.asp I successfully get the forum. But when I try to log in, I get a 404 error saying it cannot find http://www.wildwildwest.org/public_html/forum/default.asp

When I try to do the same thing with a topic open, I get http://www.wildwildwest.org/public_html/forum/topic.asp

It doesn't seem to matter what path I put for the forum in the Main Forum Config, or if I clear cookies.

I'm very confused and tired now. Any help from a clear mind appreciated.

Backup your inc_header file and try this one here: New Header.
Let me know if it helps.<
