Guys,

I'm a total Snitz newbie and this is my first post. I read through the readme on the install and, before I went to the trouble of actually doing the install on my GoDaddy hosted web site, I wanted to ask what version of IIS (if any) Snitz needed? My site is currently IIS 6 - does that matter? (I'm asking because it does with some of the other free forums - they don't work with IIS 6 and must have IIS 7.)

Also, I don't see anywhere where the prerequisites for Snitz are laid out. Can someone tell me the location of that?<

The thing with IIS 7 is for errors on your pages. With IIS 7, unless you have the error settings changed for your account, you'll get a generic error (like "Server Error") instead of the actual error (like error on line 123). They did this for security reasons. For instance, if your connection to your database was incorrect, IIS 6 would show what path you were trying to use to connect with which also would show the name of your database and the intended folder structure and destination of your database.

I think those settings are on a site-by-site situation, but the default setting for all web sites on the host's server (your's and everyone else's) is the generic error messages. You can ask your host to change the error pages just for your web site. Your host may even have that option for you to change on your own in your hosting package.

You should call and ask them if you can't find the option in the hosting control panel that your host provides for you to make changes to your account.
