Hey Folks,

A while ago many of you knew of one of my forums that I was putting together here. It was a free forum so there was no cash flow. I made the ULTIMATE mistake. While I was offline, I did not check mhy domains/hosting accts and emails as I was working hard and offline a lot, and forgot to renew the acct. Man, I lost everything. I was so upset. Just in case you want to know it was at ForumDotCom.com. Anyways, some company snagged it. Well, cash is still a problem and I need a savior to help me out. I had a guy on here then who installed a PM mod that had a flashing ball and a window that came up with message on the bottom right of monitor. He also installed a captha code mod, a image mod that showed an image of my choice where the text would be when you created a new post or contributed to one. He also showed me where to and how to edit the welcome message that went to their PM box after they registered. These mods where so important to me. He asked for the files so I gavew him what he needed. Then he passed them back to me and told me how to upload them once they were edited. Man, I really would appreciate the boost here if anyone feels like they have that in then to help. This has never worked out for me when I have tried to edit these.

Once again, Thx,

Stay Golden,

SeasonedMKTR :)

Mods:
  1. Private Message mod with sound and popup notifier

  2. Anti-spam Captcha Registration

  3. Welcome Message: edit lines 617-638 in register.asp; but if you have the PM mod installed, look for the following lines and edit them.
  4. if strEmailVal = "1" then
strMessage = strMessage & "Please click on the link below to complete your registration." & vbNewline & vbNewLine
strMessage = strMessage & "If the link is split or broken, you will need to copy and paste the entire link into your web browser." & vbNewline & vbNewLine
strMessage = strMessage & "After activation, visit your Profile and enter a PW reminder in case you need it reset."

Thanks I appreciate the info. Hey really quick one more thing, When someone registers they should get a email from the forum to verify the link as I have that turned on. But all the tests proved that no email is being sent. Is something else not set right?

Thanks :)<

also screwed up my registration age configuation settings. I reset this from the default of age 13 to age 18, then tried to load a mod addon that did not work. I reloaded some original files back on the server and now when I go the "Member Details Configuration" section and type in 18 and save it, it does not save and still says age 13 on the registration page. Any ideas here gang?<

Check the forum's email type & server information from admin_home.asp.
As for the age variable, you may have something wrong in inc_profile.asp or in config.asp. The variable you're looking for is "strMinAge".<
