Hello.
I'm looking for a MOD to administrate file downloads (and uploads). Members should have the possibility to order files, but should not bee able to download them before they are permitted to do so. Permissions could be given manually from web or by emails. We need to have controls with all the downloads. Before download is permitted we need some certain information from the members.
If such a MOD does not exist, I'm looking for good advice or samples so I can develop it my selves since we need this function.

| Take a look over at www.SnitzBitz.com .... it's not straight-forward over there as far as a search, so look around for MODs that use the terms download, file, upload, and things of that nature.< |

AFAIK, there is nothing exactly like what you want. Snitzbitz.com has some file download MODs, and some file library MODs, but nothing (if memory serves) to manage the permissions of who can/can't download a file.
I know it can be done, as others have asked the same question, and I've given the same answer. They do it, and tend not to share all the code which is a shame as the community could clearly use it. As I've told the others who have asked for this, if you search around (and include the archives) you should be able to find all the fragments of discussion here and there and maybe put it all together. You can always ask for help if you run across something you aren't sure about.
I would ask that if you do work this out, please think about packaging it all up as a MOD for others who are looking to do the same.< |

Yes, I may use something like this. But I have to rewrite a lot of code. In my case, only a few members shall have the possibility to upload files. Only users who order the files should be able to see and to download files. May be even the functionality should be visible for those specific users.
I have some ideas about how it could be done, and by watching this MOD it could be easier to solve?
