Hi everyone... on my website... www.ukhouseswap.co.uk

I am getting an error when members try to send a message via email from the site... it reads:

Send an E-MAIL Message

Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a000d'

Type mismatch: 'rs'

/ukhouseswap/pop_mail.asp, line 202

Any ideas on how I can fix this please?

Dan.

I had to register the cdosys.dll file in order for my subscription/email functions to work. There is a file in the tools.zip file which checks to see which email components you have installed and it showed none for me. I could see the cdosys.dll file was there so I re-registered it and then when I re-ran the testemailcomponent.asp file it showed cdosys as being installed. To reregister cdosys.dll just click Start > Run and put the following: regsrv32 cdosys.dll<

Um ... Why are you dragging up a 5 month old topic that has been resolved with a post that has absolutely nothing to do with the problem originally posted?

...because I recently moved my forum to a new server and placed everything in the same directories and drive letters, renamed the host to be the same as the old one, asigned it the same IP and everything worked except the mail functions. I received the EXACT error message listed by diviendan and was looking for a fix for it. The re-registering of the dll is what fixed it for me.

I know the post is old but, it just happened to me and this is where I ended up by searching the forum. Why wouldn't I try to help out others by posting what resolved it for me???<
