I am moving my website along with my MS Access based Snitz forum to a different web hosting company.
I am having a problem with the forum where when I login, I just get redirected back to the login page. There is no error, but I can't get to the actual forum. All I ever get is the login page.
If I login with the wrong password, I get "Your username and/or password was incorrect." so I am pretty sure the database connection to Access is working ok.
If I login with the correct password, I get the "Your login was successful!" page which stays up for a few seconds, and then the login page shows up again.
Here's a repro:

to repro the problem, login with this user/pass:
testing/asdfasdf
thanks for reading!

thanks for the reply.
I cleared cookies in both FF 2.0.0.14 and IE7 and the problem persists.
I also verified that session variables *are* enabled on the server.
I would try to apply the referer mod but I am unable to since I can't login, right?
EDIT: I applied the referer mod here and it did not fix the issue: http://www.snitzbitz.com/mods/details.asp?Version=All&mid=172
any other ideas? are you able to reproduce the problem at the link I provided using the test user/pass above?< |

I am able to reproduce it FF 2.0.0.14 It seems the Snitz00User cookie is not being made. Are you running this code on another site similar to this topic?< |

no, nothing like that. Perhaps it's because of the strange url. So far, I haven't switched the DNS servers yet because I wanted to get everything working first. Because of this, I can only view my site in this "preview" url which my new host gives me - it has a dollar sign char in it:
http://67.210.106.242/$sitepreview/elsasoft.org
Once I switch the DNS to point to my new host, then I can use a normal URL which will just be http://www.elsasoft.org
I suppose I'll just switch over the DNS now - I don't like to do so before everything is working though. Oh well. I'll bite the bullet and see what happens. ;)< |
