Coming to end of ideas, I am trying to resolve an issue when using the Googiespell Mod, which causes the textarea of the message to change size when carrying out the spell check. Below are two comparisons, firstly when posting a thread on post.asp Initial screenshot Post.asp
Carrying out spell check
there are three changes: 1. The side message area borders move inwards 2. The bottom of the textarea a space appears between the message area and the table border 3. The spell check button graphic disappears and moves the button to the left.
Secondly, on a thread reply in topic.asp
Again there are similar changes when carrying out the spell check:
1. The textarea side border moves in 2. A space appears at the bottom of the textarae between the table border 3. The spell check button graphic disappears
Given that both scenarios are fairly similar in the symptoms I have left the spell check button on the topic reply at the top of the message area to show that moving the button has no effect. This resizing spoils an absolutely brilliant mod, and I have tried various options to try and align the textarea when the spellcheck is in progress. When you finish the spell check, and press resume the wind resizes back to original size.. Could the animated graphic and green graphic have anything to do with the sizing ? Changing screen size options, the same symptoms occur. Incidentally I have noticed these same symptoms occur on other snitz forums with the Googiespell mod incorporated. Download link and demo Can any of the js. files be amended to remove the graphic and animated graphic? Looking forward to a solution. < |

well have you tryed looking in the files that changes the apperance of the textbox? more than likly the appearence settings are hardcoded and dont use the dynamic snitz settings.
so i would thing you would need to either change the hardcoded settings to what you have or make the hadcoded values use the snitz settings... if that makes sence< |

As I said earlier, aside from the button and graphic issues, I've noticed the same behaviour with the Google Spell Check button on the Google Toolbar. Since the Googiespell MOD taps into the same function, I'm willing to bet that it has something to do with their code, and it may not be something you can change.
If anything you need to look at the Google API calls and/or see if there are any resolutions related to the issue re the toolbar's button. The latter will probably point you in the direction you need to go.< |

AnonJr, I've emailed Googie and see if they can provide a fix (I wait my breath as I don't expect to get a reply) as this annoyance is there with other uses of their spellchecker.. Thank you so far..< |
