Hi,
Recently the error message posted below has started coming up when someone replies to a message if the message is more than a line long. This forum has been up and running successfully for quite a long time. Version Snitz Forums 2000 v3.4.05. Any ideas?
Error: Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server error '80040e14'
Could not allocate space for object 'FORUM_REPLY' in database 'db____________' because the 'PRIMARY' filegroup is full.
/forum/post_info.asp, line 1027
Thanks in advance!

I just tried archiving old posts (something I've never done before) and received this message:
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server error '80040e14'
Could not allocate new page for database 'db__________'. There are no more pages available in filegroup PRIMARY. Space can be created by dropping objects, adding additional files, or allowing file growth.
/forum/admin_forums.asp, line 489
***************************************** How do I remedy this?
TIA,

You *may* also free up some space by performing a backup - if there are any hanging transactions leaving a big Transaction log, it could mean you're bigger on disk than you need to be. Personally, on my own box, as it's just a forum, I'd detach and reattach the .mdf (abandoning the .ldf), which can help. But as you've got a poor host you may have to just ask for more space ;-)
Out of interest, how big is your forum and the space assigned?< |
