I have noticed that the initial author of the thread in topic.asp. their contry location is missing in the authors column, but on the subsequent replies they appear. Could anyone pinpoint where the code is for the location/country string is for the initial author so we can ensure it is displayed, or better still why it is missing.

thank you in advanced
andy

in topic.asp look near the end for the Sub GetFirst() that is the function that displays the initial topic

Looking at the Sub GetFirst()
Where the country display text is, there appears to be no difference betwwen the initial and reply routines. This block is situated in two parts of the file:

if strCountry = "1" and trim(Reply_MemberCountry) <> "" then
Response.Write " <font color=""" & strForumFontColor & """ face=""" & strDefaultFontFace & """ size=""" & strFooterFontSize & """><small>" & Reply_MemberCountry & "</small></font><br />" & vbNewLine

I have cut the code section around where the two blocks above appear and posted it on country.txt

well if that code is from the GetFirst sub then that woudl be why the country isnt showing up.

that bit of code is looking for the memebr details of the reply and not the 1st post.

if strCountry = "1" and trim(Member_Country) <> "" then
Response.Write " <font color=""" & strForumFontColor & """ face=""" & strDefaultFontFace & """ size=""" & strFooterFontSize & """><small>" & Member_Country & "</small></font><br />" & vbNewLine
end if

see the difference?
