My Gatekeeper works like a charm keeping the bad guys out, but now ALL new members are automatically 'members pending' and do not have access until permission is granted. How do I keep Gatekeepers protection and still allow innocent new members immediate access?

I've got green fingers, but I'm all thumbs using a keyboard!

Turn off Restrict Registration in the admin area. Its nothing to do with gatekeeper.

You'll find it under E-mail Server Configuration

Never rains but it pours! I mean 'emails' to solve the problem of members pending? Any road.... That's one box I did not check. And then discovered this error message instead.
"Microsoft VBScript compilation error '800a0411'

Name redefined

/snitz/admin_config_email.asp, line 183

dim i, j"
----^

Try changing that line to

'dim i, j

or

dim j

If you still get the error, can you post a text version of admin_config_email.asp ?

i.e. copy it to your website as admin_config_email.txt and give us a link to it.

'dim i, j worked Podge, many thanks.
But when the email server config window did appear it did show the following conditions previously set up:
Email validation is ON
Restrict registration is OFF

So I'm wondering whether new members were not given immediate forum access because of a fail safe with respect to my "dim i, j" error?

You can approve their registration in the admin area and then contact them by email.
