Last I checked, they offer both free and paid hosting. Given the problems, it was a reasonable assumption that you were using the free service.
Regardless, there seems to have been a lot of ... questions from people using them as their provider. I won't draw any conclusions or say any more - other than http://www.webhostingtalk.com/ (or somewhere like that - I've seen a few others out there) is where you ought to bring hosting questions. |

Ahhh the old 'you get what you pay for' problem ;-) If this is your line-of-business application, it may be worth moving it up a league so you're not wasting hours and hours fighting with a lower-cost/volume-oriented host? |

my mistake, they are just what we call cheap and cheerful, and you get what you pay for, in order to sell webhosting at such cheap levels they massively over subscribe the servers, since 99% of users won't ever need much resource, but as soon as you start to actually do something you soon find out that there is not much to go around. |

downtime has nothing to do with it, resources are to do with memory usage on the server not whether the server is running or not.
It is not a personal opinion, just do a search for godaddy here and see how many people have one problem or another using godaddy. |

Most people that have problems with godaddy hosting are suffering from "self-inflicted wounds". Godaddy offers decent hosting for the price, and they are a reputable company that doesn't run their server out of a closet in the basement ... :)

I didn't say they were running it out of a closet in the basement, just that to offer hosting at the prices they do means they have to over subscribe the servers which means people will encounter issues when running anything other than simple websites. they also have some very unfair practices which would indicate they are not quite as reputable as you think. http://nodaddy.com/ |
