Hi,
I'm an administrator of a snitz forum and i'm having some problems while trying to submit new config at "Administrative Functions".
Recently i've updated the version of the forum and now, for example, if i want to submit new configuration for "Ranking Configuration", i click at the "Submit new Config" button and everything goes fine, the message of success "Configuration Posted! Congratulations!" is showed, but nothing happens!
it's like i'm not commiting the transaction, for example.
And this is causing a lot of troubles 'cause i need to change de Email Server Configuration but i can't.
Thank's.
Do anyone knows what is happening? |

If you have access to check the database directly, that would be my first stop. If the right values are in the database (which I suspect they are), it may be a caching issue or the server variables might not be getting updated properly.
When you updated, were you updating from a stock install to an updated stock install? (i.e. did you modify/tweak/add anything other than the requisite changes to config.asp?) |

this is another help i need,
i'm using the sql server and some days ago i had a .asp developed by another admin that was providing this access to the database. But, after some troubles we decided to take of this page from the server,
how can i access the database now? do you guys have any special client to provide this access?
about the caching issue, i presume that maybe it's the problem 'cause these days i changed the configuration of the Ranking and two days later the new configuration was there!
what can i do in these cases of caching issue? |

I've actually ran into this same issue on my site http://www.coastercrazy.com but didn't bother pursuing a fix. Now that I see someone else on SQL server, like me, having the same problem. I am curious for a cause of the problem. However, my forum is heavily modded. I've checked the db and the variables are entered correctly into the tables so I don't know what's up. |

Most hosts provide you with some interface... if they allow it, there are some programs out there that allow you to do the same. MS provides the "SQL Server Management Studio Express" - but I think that only works with SQL Server 2005. There's another product out there that I've linked to in the past, but I can't seem to locate it at this moment... let me get my second cup of coffee in. |

have you tried using the 'Check Installation' link under Admin Options, that may fix the issue or may indicate a problem if there is one. |

ok, without doing it there is no way to update the configs?
if i wait a couple hours the configs will be updated on the screen ? or just executing the "Check Installation". |
