My forum was set up for me some 2 or 3 years ago & hasnt been touched since. How do I go about updating it to the latest software version? |

If it hasen't been touched save config.asp, download the latest version, follow the readme, and subscribe to the security forum |

Download config.asp from your current site and save it on your computer. |

There is a file in your forum folder called "config.asp" - it has all the information you need to connect to your database. |

No, download old config then after you've replaced your files replace the new config with the old to save the database setup step. |

phy1729, that may not be such a good idea depending on how old his forum is...
You want to save a copy of the old config.asp and use it to help you in setting up the new config.asp. |

You should take a backup of all your forum files, including the database, before upgrading just in case you encounter any problems and need to "roll back" & try again.

Search is your friend “I was having a mildly paranoid day, mostly due to the fact that the mad priest lady from over the river had taken to nailing weasels to my front door again.” |
