My forum was set up for me some 2 or 3 years ago & hasnt been touched since. How do I go about updating it to the latest software version?

If it hasen't been touched save config.asp, download the latest version, follow the readme, and subscribe to the security forum

Download config.asp from your current site and save it on your computer.

There is a file in your forum folder called "config.asp" - it has all the information you need to connect to your database.

No, download old config then after you've replaced your files replace the new config with the old to save the database setup step.

phy1729, that may not be such a good idea depending on how old his forum is...

You want to save a copy of the old config.asp and use it to help you in setting up the new config.asp.

You should take a backup of all your forum files, including the database, before upgrading just in case you encounter any problems and need to "roll back" & try again.

Search is your friend
