Funny, spammers have been hammering my church site (built with Snitz) ever since I put it up and none have successfully gotten through. Ever. And no CAPTCHAs needed either.
It most likely more of a configuration issue. There was a topic posted a while ago that covers some steps you can take to thwart spammers. [link]

Has your forum been hacked or spammed? There's a world of difference.

I've noticed an increase lately in bots trying to spam my forums. They are easy to prevent. Requiring email validation will prevent a lot of them but you won't stop human spammers as easily.
i cannot understand how stupid hacker toys can crack so easly my forum it happens 1 a month....

and is it possible to have a more controls on registering (security numbers, security questions ) etc? ...cause i got tons of bots
well, you could start by searching here and looking in the bug forums to make sure you have all the latest patches, and you can check out all the mods there are to prevent bot registration.
and as Shaggy said, hacking and spamming are two entirely different things and no system anywhere can prevent 100% of spam effectively
