Hi,

One of our posters found a post listed in one of the search engines. Not unusual, except the link listed in the search engine took you straight to the edit post area... meaning that anyone who followed that link could edit the post. How do I turn that off so that the search engines only go to the regular posts?

Thanks for your help.

No, they can't.

Search is your friend

Put the following line in your robots.txt file....

User-agent: *
Disallow: /forum/post.asp

Of course change the path (in red) to match yours. Within 30 days or so all those should be removed from the index.

The big guys like Google and Yahoo will comply, some smaller engines may not.
