i've got some limited knowledge of asp and can usually fix what's up with things like forums.... but this one's got me stumped.

i am installing a snitz forum on someone's free general membership brinkster.com space and it can't find the database. i've uncommented strDBType so that it knows it's an access db, but it can't figure out (or i can't) where to point strConnString to.

as people with experience with brinkster.com will know, all databases must be in a folder titled \db under your root directory, and i've got another one where i've put all the other files incuded in the zip into a directory called \forum

so my space looks like
\ <-- html files, all others
\db <-- my databases files
\forum <-- main files within the zip
\forum\tools <--- all the files in tools in the zip

HOW CAN I GET MY CONFIG FILE TO KNOW THAT THE DATABASE IS IN THE DB DIRECTORY?!?? i don't know how to do it...

any help would be great...

To find the path to your database you can use the Where Am I? (.ASP) that can be downloaded from here:

http://forum.snitz.com/archive/default.asp?catid=11&cattitle=Forum+Setup+Tools

If you had done a search here at the site using the words database and brinkster you also would have found this topic:

http://forum.snitz.com/forum/link.asp?TOPIC_ID=3944

which explains where to find it, without using the above mentioned script.

That's ok, just go easy on the CAPS next time, if people SHOUT while asking questions they could find doing a search, you can expect to get a somewhat different answer then when you just ask politely
