I have used Snitz on my site for a couple of years now, and just within the past few days my default.asp forum page loads extremely slow. When I go to specific forum topics, categories, admin options, etc. it loads fine, it just seems to be slow on the complete forum listing. I use Mysql for my database, and figured somehow that is the issue, but I was looking for some advice on where I should start. If I am leaving something out that may be important information, please let me know and I will give that info. I have searched the Snitz site for any information, but can't find any for my problem. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Well that's certainly weird, sudden changes are always reason to suspect something is wrong? Have you talked to the host about it? Maybe something changed at the server.

It may also be DB related. One obvious thing to do would be to rebuild the database indexes and see if that helps.

I have talked to my host, and they say that nothing has changed. The rest of my site is fine, and all of my forum sections load fine except for the main forum listing. How would I rebuild the database? The only experience I have with Mysql is through PHPmyadmin. By rebuilding the database, would I lose my forum topics, members, etc?

I didn't say that you should rebuild the database, just the database indexes. It won't harm the database, it can only help.

This topic explains how you can rebuild indexes: http://forum.snitz.com/forum/topic.asp?whichpage=0.52&TOPIC_ID=64661&SearchTerms=rebuild,index.
Not sure that it will solve the problem, but it may help.

Ok. :( Thanks for the advice. It seems that it is using talking about using the repair command. I have done that several times, and it hasn't helped. I will read through that thread again, and make sure I didn't overlook what it was saying.

You will need to run:

REPAIR TABLE table_name QUICK;

for each of the forum tables.
