Greetings,

I was writing Mod Rewrite functions for my webserver and actually stucked kinda about how-to for Snitz forum.

I pass variables in SEO mod such as "Mod-Rewrite-for-Snitz" in each link to ASP with a dummy query string such as "subject=Mod-Rewrite-for-Snitz"

Anyone actually tried such thing before?

I'm not entirely clear what it is you're trying to achieve, but it's almost certainly possible?! Can you explain a bit more?

OK, sorry, Let's say:

a casual snitz link to a topic page, 2

/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=4128&whichpage=2

With a little modification to send titles:

/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=4128&whichpage=2&TOPIC_SUBJECT=Something-Topic-Subject

And with Mod Rewrite;

/forum/Something-Topic-Subject_t4128_wp2.html

would direct to real object. Just curious if someone ever tried such thing in IIS, similiar to Apache .htaccess stuff.

If I'm understanding what you want, I think someone tried something similar with a custom 404 page. I'm not 100% sure though.

Well, I can actually do it with ISAPI Rewrite component, however, I am not sure how many types of links in Snitz in total

Trying a list like:

/default.asp
/default.asp?CAT_ID=<catid>
/forum.asp?FORUM_ID=<forumid>
/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=<topicid>&REPLY_ID=<replyid> etc.

Just curious how many "types of" links there are...

Hey SiSL, I was wondering if you have made progress on this? I just installed Isapi Rewrite for a vBulletin forum and see how it could work great for Snitz. Let me know if you have got this working or not.
Thanks

funnily enough, Snitz used to pass the titles around but they were removed from the query string some time ago as search engines didn't like long qury strings, funny how things go round in circles
