So is it possible to upload an image and resize it using pure ASP?

yes its possiable to use PureASP to upload an image without a component but i dont think that u can actually resize the image to a thumbnail, u would have to resize the image in the html wit hthe width and height atributes

Sadly, resizing in HTML still downloads the full file (however large it is), then renders it small on the client, so you lose on all fronts!

you coudl always upload 2 files and get the user to resize the original image first...that would kinda work, altho its not exactly practicle for thr user.

I'd run a server-side component, they're not too expensive and your host may already have one installed you can use.
