Any suggestions on the easiest way for admin to recieve email notification following successful subscription of a new member? (Have I missed a feature?) modify inc_mail with a CC? Thoughts? Thanks! |

Why would you want to be notified of each new subscription? You'll find yourself swamped with mail, especially if members are subscribing to topics (rather than individual forums or the entire forum).

I think he means he wants a notification of when a new member signs up and gets the "Welcome" e-mail... but some clarification would be nice. |

Thanks for the responses....the MOD got me 98% there (BTW in current Version 3.4.06, looks like line 641 is the right place in case you want to update the readme...) The remain 2% would be satisfied with send of "notification" emails ocurring only after the user had authenticated back to register.asp from the "verify email account" email. Shaggy's point is well taken, but it would be great to get a heads up that a new forum member has activated (as opposed to just signing up). Currently our Snitz "email server configure" settings are as follows: require unique=On, Email Validation = On, Restrict Registration=Off, Require Logon for sending=On.
One last point has me confused; with the above configuration, why would new signups show up under Members Pending and require approval to be sent the verification email? Do I have something mis-configured? We want to allow users to freely signup but have their email verified prior to posting (or in a perfect world, admin recieving the "heads-up" email) Again, Thanks! |

With those settings prior admin approval is not required. It would only be required if Restrict Registration was set to On. With the current settings, members will be shown as members pending until they validate their email addresses. |

emagineering,
To receive notification of a user validating their email address, you need to do essentially the same thing as for registration. In register.asp find the lines:
Just after that and before the End If add:
Then modify the strMessage to report what you want in the email. |

No, you can ignore Shaggy; his point was related to subscriptions, not reggsitrations

I have added this README mod to version v3.4.06 and can not get this working. Line 640-642 has this code %>
<!--#INCLUDE FILE="inc_mail.asp" -->
<% and on 643 I added the README mod I get no mail
Likewise I also added the README mod just before ELSE clause when the code checks if strRestrictReg variable is set to 1 on or about line 677. No email is sent then either.
My settings are
Require Unique E-mail: = ON E-mail Validation: = ON Restrict Registration: = ON Require Logon for sending Mail: = ON
