There are lots of gardening forums out there which are run through web media businesses but this is one of the very few that's run by a garden. There are still some 'niggles' to sort I feel, biggest of which is the one for members to create their own avatars, and I don't see why I should have the moderators column included when there's just one moderator.
There is an Avatar mod which you can expose to the public but there is the issue with people uploading huge image files... much better handled through .NET

Until a few days ago I had the forum open to non registered users. But I found there were loads of people reading who then didn't even sign the guestbook let alone register and join the community'. Enough of of that thought I - but it remains to be seen - I'll give it a few weeks any road.
I like the idea of a guestbook but I think it should be more visible than it is. Even bigger script would be better. . . . .
The best MOD is definitely the antispam MOD. - Man, that saves a lot of work.
Another useful MOD I've found is the one that emails the admin of a new member.
I've got green fingers, but I'm all thumbs using a keyboard!
