Followed procedure : I set up a private forum by turning "on" private forums on feature configuration, then on edit forum i have choose "allowed member list (hidden)" and then selected the member allowed.

The problem : The private forum is hidden from the member not selected and is visible only by selected members but now posting is not posible nither in the private forum nor on the open forums.

Please anyone can explain what is wrong and tell how to fix the problem.

That can't be caused by setting up a private forum... Do you have a link to the forum and a test account?

Thanks for reply ruirib.
The forum is within a web portal and the access is by clicking the left button of the mouse.
Do not have a test account, but if needed and tell me how to set up one or were is the info about it, i will do it.
Direct link to the forum is http://www.ciemi.org.ve/forum/
The forum is on trial and all public access work ok, after turnig private forum "on" posting become impossible but when turning private forum "off", posting is possible again.
At the moment the private forum is "off" and have no hidden forum.
Help is most appreciated.

Well, it doesn't help much to visit the forum while the problem is not occurring... I can't see the error occurring.
Likely whatever is causing this was done during the forum translation process.

Private forum is activated with "allowed member list (hidden)".
I created a temporary user name "ruirib" for you with the password "ruirib" and have included you in the allowed member list so you can see the forum.

Since the forum is on trial i can give you a password to enter the administration option if you would like to check more into the problem

The problem lies with your post_info.asp file. Probably something was messed up during translation. Better post a link to a text version of the file, to be compared with an original one, even if the spanish translation may make it difficult to find out what's causing this.

The problem is not with post_info.asp. I tested it on a local forum and it works. Must be some of the other files, either inc_func_common.asp or inc_func_secure.asp. Better post them too.

These worked on my forum too... Getting hard to find out what's wrong...
Let's check post.asp, maybe the issue is there... there aren't that many other possibilites.

Well this one works on my forum too...

This seems to be hard to find. Maybe it's related with your setup, db...
I would suggest that you start with post_info.asp and the files it includes... back them all up. Then get one and replace it by the Snitz original file. See if the problem goes away, if it doesn't, replace another... until you get it working. Once it's working, you will now the file that's causing it... the last one to be changed. It's important that you replace one file at a time and immediately check if that file solved the problem.

i knwo this may sound silly but have u tryed re uplaoding the files to your server? maybe part of a file lost some data while it was being uploaded? i sure thsi has happened in the past and all it was, was either files incorrectly uploaded or the file was corrupt and didnt transfer correctly.

just an idea

Glad it's working now. Must have been something related to other files too, because it worked properly when I added it to my Snitz 3.4.06 local forum.
