Like leatherlips on his initial post I am experiencing the same problems, installed IP GAte (2.4.4) enterd the bots IP 64.27.0.60 but it still appears on site and has been giving errors on my active users page. ( See http://forum.snitz.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=67148 )
Last night I was in dialog with leatherlips to see if we could understand why the bot keeps looking at pages etc. I entered letaherlips Ip and he was able to visit all my forum pages.. he returned the check and banned my ip which worked. Now lifted, I wonder if there is something missing, I do not seem to get the mod working, admin_ipgate reads alright, despite font issue, but it also does not log too. Any help would be appreciated andy< |

Andy,
In order to help you out, I will need the exact info that I asked of leatherlips. It is the only way to see what your settings are and how you modified your files. You can send me the info by email from the forums. I will need txt version of config.asp ==> with db info removed txt version of inc_header.asp ipgate forum variables examples of ban information you entered, including dates examples of date and time as they appear on your forum < |

Twiceler obeys robots.txt, you should block it that way instead to completely remove it from your site/forums.

Andy I reviewed your info, the only thing I see wrong is where you inserted the <!--#INCLUDE FILE="inc_ipgate.asp"--> in inc_header.asp
Instructions say to add it to the end of inc_header.asp after the last %>
If you can move it there and test and let me know the results we can go from there.< |

gpctexas Thats it! I did look in my inc_header for the last %>, but because I had additional code I put it after the first %> next to the <!--#INCLUDE file="inc_func_common.asp" --> Thank you everso much for you time and I thought you might be interested I sorted the IPGate Fonts issue out see http://forum.snitz.com/forum/topic.asp?whichpage=1&TOPIC_ID=67180#380339 There is a link to a copy of my admin_ipgate.asp there too. Thank you..< |
