Downloaded everything. Setup MySQL 5.0 and ODBC 3.51. Created database snitz. Edited config.asp to reflect settings. Opened FireFox to http://localhost/snitz/setup.asp. System whirred for awhile then announced:
Script error detected at line 449. Source line: Application.Lock Description: Object required: 'Application'
Running on XP Home using Pablo Software's Baby Web Server 2.7.2. Error is the same in both FireFox 2 and IE7. I checked and the database is in place with one file, db.opt in it. Baby Web Server is supposed to handle basic asp commands. I hope that is not the problem as I have no budget for this project.
Thank you, Gerry |

since I've never come across that error, my gues would be your web server is causing the problem, as the error indicates. |

That's strange; line 449 in setup.asp is a </tr> tag, the only occurrence of Application.Lock in setup.asp is on line 53.

IIS is an easily installed option for Windows 2000. I *assume* that it is also an option for Win XP. (I don't use Win XP.)
If this is true, why not use IIS in lieu of the Pablo software? IIS on Win 2k works just fine!! |

Thank you all very much. Guess I'll have to dump my web server. Yes, I'm aware IIS doesn't come on XP Home. It is on my laptop which has Media Edition and it also comes on Pro and 2000.

I have Win XP. Whenever I try to setup, I get this: windows cannot open this file: setup.asp
I have read the above posts.
Does this mean that I cannot use the Snitz forum on my Win XP computer?
