Sorry for the capitals used, but I don't want to be confused with the bloody gambling sites who dump a bunch of icons on your desktop without you wanting that.
However, the system itself is brilliant as a backup system where the url could include dynamic variables.
So, I know how to write txt and xml files to the server when certain scripts are executed, but I was wondering, is it possible to use CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject") to write an .url file to a person's desktop (when a button is clicked)?
To take it one little bit further, is it possible to have it create an .url file with custom icon? (This is optional, I'm more interested in creating the icon on demand to a "virtual" location (which should be the user's desktop - or, if possible, a location he/she can set themselves)
Greets & thanks, Dominic

Ok :) I will stick to a text url generator from which they just have to copy and paste the url or mail the link to themselves :)
Greets & thanks,

Note that that will only work in IE.
