Hello. Hoping to find some help. First off, I'm not an IT person so if you can help, please try to keep instructions simple. I'd really appreciate it.
This is somewhat of a two-fold question. I'm currently leading an overhaul of my company's intranet site. On our "old" site, we had a Snitz powered Discussion Board. We're transfering that exisiting Discussion Board to the new site, which is now hosted by Sharepoint. We have essentially just linked to our old site in order to retain the old posts on the Discussion Board (keeping the old posts is very important). However, I was wondering if there is a way to "pick up and carry" the exisiting Discussion Board and put it onto our new site directly. If not...
Presently, when clicking to enter the Discussion Board (Snitz), the user goes to a landing page that requires a log-in. Then when the user replies to or starts a new topic, they are required to log-in again. What I want to do is get rid of one of these log-in prompts, preferably the first one so users just go directly into the Discussion Board without hitting a landing page. Is this possible?
Many thanks for any and all help!

Someone please correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that setting the Require Registration to off in the Admin Options -> Main Forum Configuration should remove the initial login page and allow all users to see the forums. They would still need to log in to post/reply. |

Yes, you just need to transfer all forum-related files, including the database, to the new server. You'll then need to edit config.asp to update the details of your database and run setup.asp.

Thanks for the earlier help, PPSSWeb and Shaggy. I hope you're still checking here as I have just now gotten around to trying your suggestion and ran into a glitch. My version is 3.3.05 and does not seem have a "require registration" option in the admin options. Is there a work-around for my version or do you have any other suggestions? I read on another forum that you may be able to change log-in functions on a forum-by-forum basis but I don't think that solves my problem as I want to get rid of the main log-in landing page that isn't tied to any particular forum.
Thanks again for any and all help!
