Hi All

I have sucessfully set up and configured an access version of the forum on my managed servers.

In firefox, you can log in and log out no problem - however, on IE, when you log in it says

"You logged in successfully"

But then redirects to to the homepage without logging in. Ive tries with both standard user and mod users to no avail - any ideas?

cheers

james

Are you using frames or URL redirection? If not, can you post a link to the forum?

This problem has come up before... it may help to add a compact policy (or something to that effect...) - the code is floating around here just a search away. There are a few other things you can try, and they are outlined in similar threads.

That's a situation where IE is known to have issues. You can try to add a compact privacy policy to see if it helps (it may indeed help). Do as explained here (next to last post), to add the policy to your forum.

it is not strictly an issue with IE, the fact that it works in FF is actually an issue with Firefox, it should not work since it is a security issue concerning cookies

How about a problem that occurs on same domain?

Let's say domain.com and forum is domain.com/forum , cookies are set to be website, not forum only.

When redirected to "/" from forum/login.asp after message "You have successfully logged in", IE just shows previous version of the page. If you refresh, it shows as "logged in"

Firefox does not do that...

Maybe an IE caching issue?

That's what I thought but well, didnt know it cache it with redirect or link or at least check "newer" version of the page.

Confirm the problem. Suppose that it can be linked to captcha working different way in FireFox and IE

The solution was posted above. The problem has nothing to do with captcha, but with 3rd party cookie handling.
