I don't think you can do it after its been public (little late for that...). For future reference, if you enable moderation, you can set the forums so posts have to be "approved" first (When you enable moderation a new option will be available in each forum's properties). I'd be careful with this feature though - if you slow down the posting process too much you may end up turning away a lot of people.
