There is no write access for this directory. Please grant write access for anonymous users on the directory.
above is under admin section. when I put the "red" into the upload directory I get this error...when I go into that file to try to change the attributes it won't let me...any help?
You need permission granted to you on the server to create a directory and to give permissions to users to upload files to it. Others can explain that more fully. I don't believe it is a problem with your installation of the mod.
Panhandler is right. You need to create the directory "file attachments" in your forum directory and assign Read, Write access for your anonymous web user account.
Your upload directory confuses me a bit though. Why does yours point to a file rather than a directory structure?
I believe it should be structured: http://<URL to site>/<forum directory>/<forum upload directory>/
