Ok I am getting the "out of memeory" and "system resources exceeded" errors. I had been messing with mods and such a few hours before this happened. I had everything backed up so I re-uploaded my back-ups and I am still having the same issue.

It is just my forums that are down, the rest of my site is fine. Would that still make it a server issue?

I read the previous posts on this, but I just wanted to make sure with the experts here, that this is a server issue, before I go rip my hosts support. Who already told me once that it is a script issue.

well, it could be a code issue, but will require IIS to be reset in order to fix it.

Even, if it is a code issue it is not a Snitz issue, you could have done sonething when you were "messing with mods" as you put it.

however, out of memory/system resource exceeded errors would normally indicate that you are running on a very over subscribed web server.

Could it still be a code issue even though I put back the pages as they were prior to the problem? I always back-up the forums b4 I "mess" with anything. As soon as I noticed the problem I reverted to my back-up.

My hosting company is Network Solutions, they are a pretty big company with a 99.8% guaranteed up-time. Is there any possible way this is related to access? I was getting ready to upgrade to MSsql. Will this at all help the issue?

the problem is that once you get that error it will require an IIS reset to fix it, it won't make any difference if you put the original code back until IIS is reset.

It is possible that it is related to access, but that would depend on several factors, db size, concurrent users etc etc.
The fact that network solutions are a big company makes it even more likely that you are on over subscribed servers rather than less likely, 99.8% guarenteed uptime does not really mean anything and certainly doesn't give you an indication of how many hundreds of sites are all sharing the same servers.

you don't need dedicated hosting, it is just that the big companies are not allways the best

Do you have a few good hosting companies you can recommend? I guess I fall prey to bells and whistles...lol

Really it's because I assume they have the resources to quickly fix an issue. Again lol, as they seem to be scratching there heads at this point.

As with any site, "down time", will make you or break you, and this situation is making me nervous, I guess I really want a host that is familiar with snitz....is there one?

One more thing...somewhere you have a post, where you explain the steps for migrating to MSsql. I had read through it a few weeks ago, now I can't find it when i am searching. I came across another post about upgrading to MSsql by a snitz user...but I would really rather use yours...I mean can you blame me!?

I am also using these Mods currently if it makes a difference or if there is an issue I am unaware of:
Admin Tools
Anti-spam e-mail
Anti-Spam registration
Auto resize images
Avatar
Avatar Gallery
Complaint Manager
E-mail Notification (which is not working...lol)
Forum config order
IP gate
Logged in users who are active (the older simpler one)
Signature Image manager
Site Integration
Syndicate Mod
Tell a friend
Post count before e-mail
Search Mod
Shaggy DOB Mod

Again thank you soooo much HuwR, I really appreciate you taking the time to "chat" with me, being so new to snitz, sometimes I get lost in the forums.

So, the IIS reset, must have solved the issue, as my forums are back up. It still makes me nervous though. A big part of my sites value will depend on the forums being up. I am still looking for HuwR's post on migrating from access to MSSQL, if anyone can find it?

**Off Topic** HuwR I sent you an e-mail regarding another question.
