I have had the active users mod on my site for a long time now. I have never gotten an error message or anything, but I think something may be wrong.

If you go to the active users page to see where the members and guests are within the forum, it never seems to update. It will show them all as being on the same page for the whole time. I know they can't all be looking at just one page. Shouldn't this update each time I refresh the page so I can know where they really currently are?

That's what it's supposed to do, yes.

All I can suggest is to download the original MOD and go through it section by section until you find something amiss.

Sounds to me like you missed an edit to inc_header.asp or didn't mod that file correctly; double check the readme.

I've looked at my inc_header.asp file but can't find anything wrong. I've also added the Private Messages MOD which required some code in about the same place as the Active Users. Perhaps there is a conflict?

Here is a text version of my inc_header.

Just had a look at your forum (as a guest) and, when I went in to active users, it correctly showed me as being on the active users page when, if it were behaving as you say it is, it should have shown me as being on default.asp, my point of entry to your forums. Nonetheless, check that all is well with your ActiveUserTracker sub in inc_func_common.asp file.

I most likely did not make myself very clear. You guys are very helpful, but I need to make better clarifications...

If I look at my Active Users page, I'll see this:

If I check back several minutes later, I'll see this:

You'll notice that nothing changed for "Robert". The guests appear to be changing but really the guests keep coming and going so the guests are not necessarily the same as in the first screenshot (you can tell by the amount of time they have been on there). It's as if everyone just keeps looking at the same thing the entire time which I know can't be true.

It's like it will show me where they currently are when I first look at the active users page but then that is the only thing I will see. It doesn't seem to truly refresh.

I'll check the inc_func_common.asp as Shaggy suggested and see if I made any mistakes (which is very possible).

I had the timeout set to 15. I've changed it to 5 to see if anything changes.
