I installed the latest Snitx Froums 2000 on my website and put the Red1 Events Calendar Mod in it. Everything looks great, but when I go to add a new event, it just shows up as a normal topic, and doesn't show up in the events list or anyhing. I've searched for the problem solving methods from the forum and someone told that I must login as administrator to do the "Edit Froum Properties". But, at the latest version of the forum, no such option of "Edit Forum Properties" (the list of my forum system administration bar is as following). Does this depend on something else before it'll show up or what?

Forum Feature Configuration:

* Main Forum Configuration
* Feature Configuration
* Attachments Administration
* Member Details Configuration
* Ranking Configuration
* Server Date/Time Configuration
* Email Server Configuration
* Font/Table Color Code Configuration
* Add News
* Bad Word Filter Configuration
* UserName Filter Configuration
* Category/Forum Order Configuration
* Forum Theme Configuration
* Site Integration Configuration
* Group Categories Configuration

Hope to get help from you and thanks very much.

That's because that option is on the forum home. If you are logged in as the admin., look for the pencil icon off to the right of the forum you want to edit.

Thank you for your help. But it's only for how to put the events list on what forum(s). I've done it successfully. Event become topic is the problem I'm facing! At the latest version of the forum system, there is not "Edit Forum Properties" option at the administration page! It's really a big problem.

I believe how the mod was intended and has to be used is it stores the event in a forum. You can specify what forum you would like for it to be put into but needs a forum to be put into to work. If the code was inserted correctly when you log in as the admin of the forum and to the right of the forum there is a pencil icon. Click that icon and in there about 4 or 5 lines down there is a check box that says "allow events" you need to check this box on the one forum you want the events to be put and make sure its unchecked for all other forums.

Excuse me, I think you misunderstand it. The "allow events" in an category just means that events will be allowed to show at the category. I've don it correctly. Please take a look to the forum of http://www.teach-in-china.net/forum/default.asp. Only events calendar category is allowed to show events (before now, every category is allowed to show). But event becomes topic after I post event. It's the problem. Also, no events shown at the first page.

Ok I see what you mean. When trying to post it doesn't post a event only a topic. Sorry for the misunderstanding. It seems like you have misplaced some code while making the changes. I would check to make sure you have uploaded all the files you you are supposed to. Also make sure you have made all the changes to post.asp and post_info.asp. I believe it will be one of those files but the problem is either missing some code or misplaced code somewhere in it. hth

I really want to move the events list from the top to the bottom of the 1st page default.asp. How can I do it? JJenson. Thanks again.

I have this exact problem. events post as topics but the events page doesn't show any upcoming events. I've double checked the codes. Is there anything else that could be an issue?

Did you run the DBS script in the admin section already?

Yup. I'm not sure why but I uploaded the pre-modded post_info.asp and its fixed. I've starred at the code and I do not see where I went wrong but this fixes it. Any issues with using the post_info from 3.4.05 with 3.4.06?

To answer myself. it doesn't work. I had to revert back to my original file and redo the code entry. still works so I must have had a type-o the first time? who knows..
