I'm thinking of using this MOD but have a few questions about it from others who already have it installed.

Are any of the options that it provides able to be turned on or off?

If a user uploads their own avatar or provides a link to it, will it automatically be adjusted to be the same size as my regular avatars?

Is this addon worth it or is it full of bugs?

I went ahead and installed this MOD Addon. I like what I see so far, but I have a few questions about it that I hope someone will help answer.

  1. In the Admin options, what does the setting "Set Default Avatar Link Page" do? The choices for this are Link to Users Profile, Homepage etc... I've tried various settings but I do not see anything. Am I missing something?
  2. If I make Bonus Level Avatars, they do not show up in the normal Avatar list even when a member reaches the level. Is there a way to make these bonus avatars appear in the list once they reach that level? As of now, they can only find them if they go to "My Avatars List".
  3. When viewing the "Avatars Legend" is it possible to set the default sorting of the avatars to something different? Currently it sorts them to the ID but I'd like it to sort them by Name Ascending. You can choose that, but I'd like to make it the default.

Thank you ahead of time.

Never used the MOD before, but my guess on the first question is that you're setting the link that people will go to if they click on a member's Avatar - i.e. they can go to the user's profile, or whatever was set as their homepage, etc. - but that's just a guess.

Good call AnonJr! That's exactly what it does! I never thought to click the avatar to see where it goes. Thanks for the answer to that question.

Anybody up for numbers 2 and 3? Pretty please?

OK. I figured out the sorting order. That works the way I want it now. For reference, look for sortorder = "aiddesc" and change the part in red to what you want.

Could someone look at question 2 for me now? I'm almost finished!

I have been trying to figure this out but to no avail.

Hopefully, I can explain my need a bit more clearly.

If I make Bonus Level Avatars, they do not show up in the normal Avatar list even when a member reaches that level. Is there a way to make these bonus avatars appear in the list once they reach that level?

Example:

If a user updates their profile, and clicks the link "Avatars Legend" they'll see this:

Notice the avatars with the red stars above them. Those are the bonus avatars. They clearly show up in the avatars legend once a user reaches the approprate member level. (The pic above may be hard to read, but the bonus avatars are named Chuck2, Chuck3, Chuck4 and Chuck7)

However, if they then would like to select one of those bonus avatars from the list box, they will not find them:

You'll notice Chuck2, Chuck3, Chuck4 and Chuck7 are not available.

How do I get the bonus avatars to appear in the avatar selection box?

Many thanks in advance.

I'm getting it narrowed down, but still need some knowledgeable eyes here.

I'm pretty sure the modification needs to be to the inc_avatar.asp page. Here is my text version of that file.

The database column that holds the ranking level for the avatars is called A_Member_ID. Somehow, that has to be inserted in the code but I don't know how to do it.

I just realized that for someone to help me, they may also need to see the code in the pop_avatar_lengend.asp file to see how it handles the avatars. Here is a text version of pop_avatar_legend.asp. The code in this file allows the bonus avatars to be seen. I think some of this code needs to go in the inc_avatar.asp file but I don't know which section of code or where to put it. I've tried many parts and places, but nothing I do works.

Also, here is a demo acount you can use to see first hand what I am referring to.

When logged in, go to the profile and click the Avatar Gallery link. You'll see some avatars with stars above them (they are the bonus ones). If you try to select one of them from the avatar selection box, you won't be able to because they do not appear there. That is what I am trying to fix.

Thank you for looking.
