it's been a while...anything i've usually had a problem with was always fixed before i figured it out...so i'll spit out a few questions here:
- is there any estimate of a date on a new version, and what will be different (the answer to this may void my other questions)?
- has the html ever been really fixed? i fixed my older version to work within a table in almost aspect except one or two minor places that i could still think of. i'll completely redo the code on a fresh version of snitz if it'll be used by you guys.
- has anyone thought about changing the font size option to maybe a fill in your own pixel size? going to more of a css format with that?
- is there anywhere here where anyone's listed how to add little snitz snipets onto another page of a site? for example - just have a little welcome back message, or maybe even list the active topics. i want to add another field to the profile (a favorite team thing), and then have specific info on the front page of my site for my users, if they're logged in. hell, maybe i could start using the poll feature on the front too instead of the buggy one i use now.
- i'm using sr2 on my site now. i'm about to update after i settle the html issues. i'm playing around with sr4 on another site of mine. has the active topics thing been fixed? my users complain everytime they log in, it takes them 10 days back. i once tried to apply a fix i found here somewhere, but it didn't work.
- i see there's an access help forum on the site. is that only for snitz related items? (i figured i was asking a bunch of questions, might as well throw that in). i have a statistics db and need a lot of help (i do plan on tying it into snitz soon too).
- what and where is huwr's version of snitz? what's the difference? is this a hand-out? all that fun stuff...
oh, by the way. my active site is http://hockeyfights.com and my new site will be http://kocorner.com
thanx to whoever can help

If you would like to look at what the new version is going to include then goto...
http://forum.snitz.com/alpha.asp
this is the place for the alpha section of the website. it is NOT a supported product but is a place that you can see what bug fixes will be in the next release. I might add that Mike has worked really hard and has a TON of bug fixes for the new version when it is ready.

yeah, i downloaded the alpha and have been studying over changes. it looks good. is 3.2 coming soon? i mean, i'd rather not launch with an alpha. also - i want to add some mods and change some other things, so i don't want to work on this for a week and then have the new version out

to answer my own #2 (hehe, austin powers...): the html has been redone muuuuuch better. good job guys!
there are still minor netscape issues. one thing is it doesn't like the colspan in the tables on the default page. it doesn't mind once i log in, but i'm an admin and have the extra column on the side. if i log in as someone else, i get the black strip on the right side since a column is missing. i looked in default.asp, and looks like it's programmed in to detect this, but i guess it's not working. i don't really know asp, so i thought i'd post here to see if someone could solve before i go study my asp book for hours another netscape thing - when i look at profiles, "back to previous page" disappears. note: i have my snitz embedded in a table. the surrounding table has perfect html (if there is such a thing . thought i'd point that one out too. example: http://kocorner.com/forums2/pop_profile.asp?mode=display&id=7
another thing maybe someone could help me with (as though the list up top isn't bad enough): notice the soon-to-be-formed menu on the left. see how the top has little wings? it's where my spacer gifs are. it has a #cccccc background when it shouldn't, and it only appears in netscape and only on my snitz pages. background is #666666. so i'm a little stumped. this last thing isn't important, but if someone notice's why, that'd be cool.
oh - one more thing - since i embed my snitz, i usually want it to be 100% everywhere, so i changed it in a few places. maybe you (plural you which includes me) should start making that an option in the admin controls. i have a bunch of things i'd love to see like that. thanx.
