Things are not working out with my new host and the "too good to be true" pricing has it's downfalls and plenty of downtime.
As my database was converted to MY SQL would it be an easy procedure to transfer to MS SQL. I would prefer to keep all post's etc from my last transfer less than 2 weeks ago. |

Never did it like that, but it should be possible, yes. You should use a similar procedure... create the blank tables, run all dbs files and then transfer the data. |

Rui, Sorry I don't understand.
Anyway, it's not working out on that server you did the transfer on. My question in this topic is about converting from MYSQL - MSSQL.
My Access file is now out of date and obviously doesn't contain the recent data. |

I am brand new at this. I have been wanting to be able to add forums to a website or two that I created and maintain. I'm not the best web designer in the world, ( Some say I am close to being the worst though ),and I know nothing about SQL at all. My best bet to make this happen I have discovered is to throw myself on the mercy of someone that IS actually intelligent and beg for help and patients. Anyone willing ? Thanks so much, robert@dts-computers.com |

1 - if you're going to "beg for help and patients" you really ought to start a new topic. People who would otherwise help might pass over the topic because of its title. Also, your request doesn't seem to fit the rest of the thread...
2 - we really try to "raise up" those who wouldn't normally do stuff like this. Give it a shot and see how far you can get. If you run into a problem, be specific. The best way to get help is to be specific in what the problem is and what you need to get resolved.
If you at least try and then get really stuck, people here will help. Good luck. |

RTWhite - as AnonJr says, start a new topic with lots of description, and examples of what you've tried/done so far. This will encourage people to respond as they will see it as a new problem, and have enough information to be able to help you.
And again, as AnonJr says, you will get far better help if you demonstrate that you're trying to learn as you go - tell us if you've read the FAQ, tell us if you've googled for some specific info, etc. A lot of the guys here are hardcore IT professionals, ie paid well by companies for their knowledge, and volunteer here as a way to help others learn - so helping you learn is for free, doing something for you which you could do yourself is a professional service (ie in the real world you'd be charged for it!) |
