This mightbe a forum, Access or IIS issue - this is what happens:
Go on to the forum, it loads quick, then select a topic, its equally quick, now select a thread, it slows down and can take a good 30 seconds to load.
So I thought it was a problem with the actual subject / reply areas but.. it seems to take the time to load the third selected option, so you can chop and change between forums, the third one slows right down. Waiting a while then starting the selecting again, slows on the third item selected. I've tried configuring for both ODBC and OLEDP - same.
see: http://forum.midkentfisheries.co.uk/forum
This is a fresh install and upgrade to 3.4.6 using an older database. I'm currentlt doing an archive of part of the forum - so it has really slowed down again, pretty unusable at the moment (as at 15:00 UK time)
All the best

Simon

well, without being able to look at your forum, we can't make any suggestions as to what it may or may not be

Thanks for the quick review. I did a shut down and restart of the server and that seems to have transformed it! I had left it archiving which previously had taken almost an hour when I eventually gave up.
So, the old lesson - shutdown and restart!
By the way, should I be able to re-install the avatar and mods that show who's online, my forum members are asking for these back following the upgrade from 3.4.5 to 3.4.6.

Yes you should be able to reinstall those mods you will have to go back through and edit your code for those mods. Remember to make backups of your files before doing those mods in case anything happens

Hi Simon,

Just a couple of thoughts that may help - if a reboot solved the problem you may well have a memory leak (or some circular references) somewhere. I don't believe that'll be Snitz, but you may have other apps running inside IIS, and maybe one of them is dirty/running in-process/doesn't handle its instantiations or COM elegantly.

juts some thoughts, but try watching your memory useage, especially for iis, see if it grows over time.
