Hello

I have tried moving a fully working forum over from my staging server to my live server, its all self contained in one directory but for some reason it refuses to work. The database is a simple access one and thats all self contained too so the path should have to change there.

Am I wrong in thinking its more than just copying and pasting?

all pages come up with an error except setup.asp does load but which simply tells me its all setup. I can't see any obvious problems with IIS and the rest of the website runs just fine.

Im a bit confused by this? anything I've missed or anyone else having the same problem?

The version is have it the latest stable download from this site

Regards

Adam

What exact problem are you seeing ? What does "refuses to work" mean ?

Have you tried doing what the error message suggests?

i cant do what the message suggests and contact the site as i have control of the site! I have been thrown into the deep end with this site which perpetually seems to go wrong in the most cryptic manner it can. I t was made in the most complex way possible and i cant contact the guy who made it :D :D :D

It's not the site creator that you need to contact, it's your service host. The server is having issues.

thanks Dave, I had a look into IIS and I turned off nice error messages.

Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80004005'

Operation must use an updateable query.

/forum/inc_func_common.asp, line 189

This is the new message, is this something I can change within IIS settings or an external service provider fault?

Regards

Adam

That sounds like a permissions issue. It is answered here:
