I am having a problem with my forum on a subdomain. It's somewhat different than the others ive read on this forum. My forum is placed in a directory like this: http://www.myhost.com/subdomain/forum/
From there created a subdomain that references the above URL and looks like: http://forum.myhost.com
When i go to http://forum.myhost.com and i login i get: You logged on successfully! And my browser pointing to http://forum.myhost.com/subdomain/forum/default.asp after a few seconds i get redirected to the above page which doesnt exists. So i get a page not found error. Instead i should get redirected to http://forum.myhost.com/default.asp which is equal to http://www.myhost.com/subdomain/forum/default.asp
You need to check that you have specified the right path with your subdomain. This can be done with your host. I had the same problem and had to make the right path to get to the right page.
You should set your forum URL to http://forum.myhost.com/ Your home URL should be the URL for your site, not your forum. If it's the same, then just use identical values.
Oh sorry ruirib I think I misunderstood his question. I thought that the path variable he choose for his sub domain was off cause I just went thought this 3 days ago. Sorry if that was bad information.
but after logging in the forum.myhost.com stays, but he adds /subdomain/forum/ at the end which ofcourse doesn't exist and so gives me page not found error. He should just leave the /subdomain/forum/ away and it should work.
Hmmm... likely that won't fix it. Try adding the Referer mod, to see if it helps. If it doesn't immediately I can add a "hack" to the mod that will fix it.
I did added the mod. Haven't experienced any changes though. As it is a forum my provider supports, I asked them to have a look at it. Will see, if they can 'fix' it.
