Is this possible?
Majority of the Searches just point to using DTS.
I do not see that option on my host. I haven't asked yet either.
I have a Plesk Control Panel with an online version of Enterprise Manager. Doesn't have full features as I would have liked, but it does work. |

DTS is the easy way, but there's nothing to stop you creating another set of 'linked' tables from sql server and copying the data over (slowly) via the client PC. |

Zuel,
The first thing you should do is create the forum tables in SQL using the forums setup.asp once you have done that, you can then transfer the data across either using linked tables in access or via DTS, if you feel confident and trusting enough, you can email me your logon information for Plesk togather with a copy of your access db (if it's not too large) and I can do the transfer for you. If access db is large you could maybe provide ftp access to it so I can download it and do the transfer.
You can email me via the forums with login info and I will email you back so you can send me the db |

Zuel, You might want to take a look at this product: http://www.sqlmaestro.com/products/mssql/maestro
It has a free download and trial period. Its very easy to use and I think that I read that it could do Access to MS SQL conversions. Myself, as a novice, I was able to load and run MSSQL queries within about ten minutes after downloading it. (I don't even know what a query is, but it worked!) Pan

HuwR actually got this done for me.
And while he was doing that, a DBA at the City showed me how to do it if I were to connect to the DB via Enterprise Manager. I can do that myself now but thanks to HuwR it was done right the first time. He also got the SQL Server IP so I can just plug that in and go.
I've used Enterprise Manager daily so the features aren't too alien but thanks for the link. I shall pass it to the clients I have that don't have the enterprise manager utility. |

You can upgrade Access to SQL by using the Upsizing Wizard that comes with MS Access. Very easy |

I did it with Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express (which is free by the way) and it all works very well. The upgrade from Access too around 10 minutes. |

Actually, that's not such a good idea. If I remember right, it won't carry over your indexes and some other items... you are infinitely better off using the directions rui posted around here somewhere. |
