http://www.cubicdreams.com I don't have much spare time and I was having trouble putting the Snitz Forums in my current layout. I know advanced HTML blah blah blah and so on, but it seems that the inc_top file is closing one too many tables or something. I have a top and bottom include for the top and bottom of my pages. I have tried various things along with modifying the inc_top.asp to contain my top include where the <html> - <body> tags where and in the inc_footer.asp to contain my bottom include where the </body> - </html> are. If I take the Default.asp from the forums and replace the <!--#INCLUDE FILE="inc_top.asp" --> with <!--#INCLUDE FILE="inc_top_short.asp" --> and then use my includes it appears correctly in my layout. Also when it's in my layout the grey bottom bar with the gouptop button is on the right of the forums. I would like any help on this please. Once I can get the forums inside my layout, then I want to take the top of the forums containing the Profile / Register / Login... ect and put that as part of every page on top with my own costume layout. Something along the lines of when you first enter the page there will be a bar across the top of the page containing a Join Button, the user name / pw box w/ Login button, save password box and then the FAQ and search buttons. When you are logged in it will show Profile instead of Join and in place of the user name / pw login it will say "You are logged on as ____" with a logout button, and once again the Faq, and Search buttons. The Members page will be part of the Players page and that is what I wanted to do for starters. The main things is getting the forums in my layout and the second thing would be to know what code goes to each button so I can setup the necessary things. Anyone that can help me out please post on this forum, the forum on my page at http://www.cubicdreams.com/community/forums/ or email me at xerox@bigsky.net or dreamcreator@cubicdreams.com

Thanks a bunch, still need to work a ton of things out, but that got the forums in the layout at least. Any help on what else I talked about would be appreciated. I guess mainly info on how to create a login that's on everypage. I may be able to figure it out by looking at it, but I'm not sure. Once again I thank you Richard for such a fast response. -Dream (www.cubicdreams.com) |
