Ok, here's an idea that I've been toying with (in my head, that is).
I have a skin on my forum (gif) that has a gradient. That is, it goes from lighter at the top to darker and darker until it's completly black at the bottom.
Now, I'd like to adjust the Base Background Color to be the same gradient as the skins.
See the bottom URL. You see the skins and then the black that doesn't fit the entire theme of the skins.

Not sure how much customizing you've already done.. but off the top of my head I think you have one of two options:
1. I seem to remember a header cell gradient mod floating around - it may be what you need. Quick, relatively simple, but you may run into issues with other MODs
2. Look at moving to the SpeedBall II version of Snitz. Its Snitz on CSS w/ the Site Integration MOD. But that means that you'll have to re-do just about every MOD you've installed and any MODs you add you'll have to go through and modify so they'll use the CSS classes. More work upfront, but IMHO a better long-term move for the CSS and reduced bandwidth.
