Hi
I am thinking of upgrading to MS SQL server database (it will however be a clean install)but I am concerned that some of the MODS don't work well with MS SQL. Can you confirm this is the case and if so what MODS definately don't work with it. Also I am hopeless with code unless I have instructions to follow. All the MODS I currently have went ok onto my access DB.

Dave, I did the Access->MS SQL move a while ago and I tested the upgrade a few times before actually committing to it. Mods ? Well, it depends on what you have installed and what extra tweaks you have done. Personally I think that mySQL is going to cause more 'concerns' than MS SQL, but your mileage may vary

If you post a list of the mods you are using or are planning to use, we can give you a bit more information but, I can't think of any off the top of my head - there are a handful written for Access only but this is clearly stated in the readmes for those mods.

currently on my access DB I have, birthdays, antispam reg, forum info bar, split topic, spell check, pending member profile, websearch, searchlog, profile views, guestbook, forum rules, FAQ, auto image resize, additional smiles and active users. I hope to also add on the new SQL DB an events calendar, poll mod, classified ads, links, photo album and private messages.
